Lost In Singapore

Heylo Dreamers!!! How's it goin' in Dreamland? Today we're here with a post in the segment 'From Our Hearts'. Yes, we're here with a story for y'all! This one's pretty… let's say interesting! So here's the story of how Pranavaa got lost in Singapore.

It all started when we landed in Singapore with our 7 year old selves. It was May and we had just completed our 2nd grade. We went there for a family vacation with our family, our aunt's family (dad's sister) and finally our grandparents (my dad’s parents). One of the main reasons we visited Singapore was for a fashion show which featured our cousin sister's designs. She was studying fashion designing there. This was not our first time flying. We kinda experienced our first flight when we were four months old. But this was our first international trip. We had a bunch of days before the fashion show and so we visited some sights and places. They were all pretty cool! But we won’t get into the details ‘cause we will be making a separate post about that in Wanderlust.

Then the day of the show finally arrived! We went to the venue, and we had to say, it was super classy and formal. We adored the whole theme. It was also our first fashion show. We, along with our other cousin sister had standing tickets. Meaning, we watched the whole show standing. And being a hundred percent honest here, it isn’t the best to stand through a fashion show that lasted two hours in the most uncomfortable shoes your mum forced you to wear! But on the bright side, the show was amazing! The dresses were OUT OF THIS WORLD! And the one our cousin sister designed was none the less. Eventually, the show came to an end and everyone was hanging at this place which was in the same building but in a different hall. It was kind of an “after party”. I mean they had fancy food and people, so seemed like an after party to us!

Now, this is where the action happens. Suddenly, something caught my eye. I saw batches, pink batches, laid out onto a table and people could take ‘em if they wanted to! WHAAAT?? Yes, please! I was definitely taking some! Hey! I’m a sucker for anything pink! I went over to the table and started deciding which one I’ll pick.  It was so hard to choose between them! Eventually I came to a decision and picked one. And when I turned back and went back to the place my family were, they weren’t there! They were right there two minutes ago (or ten minutes. I kinda lost track of time). Yup, I was lost! Oh, don’t mind me; just a mere and scared – very scared - seven year old who just so happens to be lost in a country that she’s never been to before! I searched around everywhere and I couldn’t find my family anywhere. Then; I did the thing that every toddler would do when they get lost, cry their eyes out until, eventually, someone finds them and either kidnaps them or report them to the authorities. Or else in my case, helps them find their family. A lady saw me crying and came over to me asking what was wrong. I told her I was lost in between sobs (I had never been more grateful to have know to speak English ever before that). She asked me if I knew someone in the show and I right away replied her with my cousin's name. She then helped me find her!  Eventually, we finally found my family!! They were walking toward us, once they spotted me. I threw my arms around my cousin sister (the one I viewed the fashion show with) once I saw her and bawled my eyes out while she comforted me.

Anyway, that was my story of how I got lost in Singapore. Thinking back, I realize how grateful I should’ve been toward that lady. I don’t even know her name! I feel bad. But she was amazing! She comforted and helped me in the sweetest manner. I don’t even know if I’ll be in this place right now, if it wasn’t for her. I do wonder some days, ‘what if I didn’t ever find my parents?’ or ‘what if the lady never existed at that time?’. I go back and imagine all the outcomes of what would’ve happened if I were lost forever. And some were NOT good while some were not so bad. But honestly I couldn’t be more grateful to have this family right now, to have a place to call home.

That was everything for this post guys! Weirdly, most of the memories we made back in Singapore are stored in our minds vaguely yet clearly. Like whenever we think back to those times, we could come up with a gist of what exactly happened. But like only a gist. We could see all the right setting, people and all those stuff from our point of view but only vaguely. That’s the thing about memories; You won't get it back, but you will know what happened and how you felt. And that just makes you miss it more. But if we think about it, that's what makes us cherish our past and live in the NOW (and it's so vital to do that)! Anyway, that's all for the post! Hope y'all liked it! Make sure to comment down below if you guys have any requests for posts. And also stay tuned for our night routines that we'll be posting on #DreamerSunday! Love y'all!! Xx

Cherishing the past, Thriving in the present, and dreaming for the future,

Pranavaa and Sunethra

P.S. Pun kinda intended in the title! Comment down below if you get it!

  1. Wow! It seems Pranavaa had a bone chilling experience in Singapore😉🤭. Even once my sister got lost in a mall and a man called my mom saying that she is with him and she is sobbing🤣. My mother thanked that man as much as she can can but at that that my sis studied 1st standard so my mother was afraid a lot🤭. Meanwhile I was laughing at my sis for the whole day😂🤣😂🤭😆. But your post was really nice!!! Waiting for your next post..........

Okay, it was totally awesome! It was really well written. You know, sometimes a situation can be something to giggle about, but choices of words can undo that? You picked really effective words! Keep going!
Things I didn't understand, tbh: 1) Today is a thursday, but you posted yesterday?
    2) I didn't get that pun! Oh, wait! I think it's like you ALL were lost in the beauty of Singapore and Pranavaa managed to get lost literally?
    Am I right?

    1. First off, Thank you for reading!! Glad you liked it!!

Second, about your questions; We didn't post yesterday. We actually posted today but there's some fault in the date. We don't know why, but we'll figure it out ASAP.

For your next question about the pun, well the title was actually taken from the movie 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'. Get it? 'Lost in New York' and 'Lost in Singapore'?

      Yea so thats that!
      Anyway, tysm for reading!

  11. Like the same way I was also lost in erode when I was seven in years old in a dress shop. When I was child me and my brother where playing hide and seek behind the dresses and we used to do skating on the tiles. When I was hiding and I returned back everyone were missing. Then I went to the bill counter and I was crying like something. That tym my mother and her younger sister and my brother(my mother's sister's son)only came for shopping for diwali. I was confused with my mother's number so I said my father's number and my father came from his office and at the same tym my mother also came there searching me.Atlast my mother got scholding from my father.
This was a terrible thing happened to me also.
    Congrats………
    Keep rocking..........
    Yours lovingly
    Jhosika
