The Crocodile Hunter
Heyyy Dreamers! How's it goin' in Dreamland? First, apologies for posting late. We were caught up with all that excitement of Diwali. Oh wait, Belated Happyyyyyy Diwali!! And of course belated Happy Children's day too!!! Hope you guys had fun this weekend! Now, getting to today's post, we don't think a lot of people knew about this but yesterday was Steve Irwin Day.
Who was Steve Irwin?
Embed from Getty ImagesSteve Irwin was born on 22 February 1962. He was an Australian zookeeper, a wildlife enthusiast and a TV personality who was the greatest wildlife warrior that ever lived. He was famously-known as "The crocodile hunter". He was a courageous and a fearless person. In fact, he caught a common venomous snake at the age of just six. Irwin loved all creatures and handled them skillfully and soon turned that into his career. He received world-wide fame from a hit TV series 'The Crocodile Hunter'. Irwin married the love of his life Terrie Raines Irwin, a American naturalist in 1992.
Sadly, in 2006, Steve Irwin died while filming in the Great Barrier Reef after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb. It is so devastating to know that a person dedicating his life to animals and taking care of them died by dangerously getting pierced by a stingray (which is usually not considered a very dangerous creature) while doing something he loves. We know, few might think that at least he died doing something he loved but at the end of the day, his death is really shattering. His tragic death shook the whole world as people from all over the world mourned his death.
"I have no fear of losing my life- if I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it." - Steve Irwin
What is Steve Irwin day?
Steve Irwin day is celebrated on 15th November as the day coincide with one of Steve's most loved animals, a big tortoise named Harriet who lived for 175 years. Steve Irwin day is celebrated to honor his life and legacy, It's the zoo's most special day of the year.
"I get called an adrenaline junkie every other minute, and I'm just fine with that." - Steve Irwin
He was a great person. He's remembered to date and he will be always. His excitement, the kid in him, his vision, and his impact on the world made him a legend. Let's all try to be more like him and make this world a better place, not only for us, but even for the other living beings. Let's be selfless for once. Let's change this world. We'll take baby steps. One step at a time.
That's it for the post today guys! We know we don't post these kinda stuff on our blog but we really wanted to share his story with you guys and inspire y'all. We didn't really know about him but thanks to our beloved uncle, we do now. Share your views about him in the comments down below. Remember, you can change this world if you believe you can. Love y'all! X
