Introverts, Extroverts and Ambiverts

Heyy Dreamers! How's it goin' in Dreamland? As we already told, today we'll be discussing about introversion and extroversion! And btw, go stream Evermore - a new surprise album by Taylor Swift! I mean, two frickin' albums in a year? Heck yeah!! And today's her birthday so happy 31st Tay Tay (lol)!! We won't be reviewing this album 'cause we've done a lot of album reviews for now and we want to concentrate on other content :). Now without further ado lessgo!!

Who are Introverts? 

We'll define introverts as people who like their alone time very much. They love exploring themselves and prefer doing things on their own or with a couple people. Big social gatherings could be overwhelming for introverts but that doesn't mean they fear social situations like when people are shy. If you think introverts are basically people who are shy, you're VERY WRONG. Introverts are just people who prefer solitude over social situations for their own reasons. 

Who are Extroverts?

In simple words, they are the opposites of introverts. They're people who enjoy social situations and being around people. They love communicating to people and love the company of them. And if you think extroverts are basically people who are socially confident, you're again VERY WRONG. Extroverts are just people who like being around people. 

Now who are Ambiverts?

Yes, ambiverts are a thing. They're like in the middle of introverts and extroverts. They like being around people and they also need their alone time. They could be really extroverted when they're around people familiar to them and people they're comfortable with and they could be introverted when they're around strangers. They change according to the situation they're in. 

Am I an introvert or an extrovert?

Sunethra: I'll say that I'm a public introvert and a private extrovert. That's basically the definition of ambivert, so yes, I am an ambivert. I can be so outgoing and fun with the people that I'm comfortable with. But if I go out to a place filled with people that I don't really know, I'll get so quiet. This might sound cliché but if I meet people for the first time they always tend to say that I'm that quiet little girl but boy, once they get to really know me, they'll know that I can't shut up. I do enjoy my alone time but I also require my fair share of spending quality time with a bunch of people. Even though I say that I confident, I can be a lil shy too (and that's okay!).

Pranavaa: I am an extrovert. I LOVE being around people! It's just so fun! You have extremely good conversation and I love that! You learn new things, try new stuff, listen to people's ideas and opinions and explore different character and personalities.

I really dread spending time alone and oh, how I dreaded lockdown smh. There are two main reasons I dread alone time. One being, NOTHING interesting happens being alone. I have no idea what to do when I'm alone and I never find it interesting. I don't get how introverts like spending time alone (no offence introverts lol). And being around people is just VERY ENJOYABLE! Why don't people like that?! I seriously don't get why! Second, my anxiety tends to work up very easily when I'm alone and it's really hard to control it when I'm not around people. I find it easier to control my anxiety when I'm around people because it gives me this kinda reassurance that I'm okay and safe. 

And yes! I am socially awkward! I try way too hard to please people and I'm not really myself in front of them. Well at least, was. Now I am being myself in social situations and I love it! I finally took my own advice and it 100% works! Thanks to the letter I wrote to my past self and tbh, thanks to 2020, too! Without it, I wouldn't have had time to improve myself. 

And also being myself in front of everyone doesn't mean that I'm not socially awkward or socially confident anymore. I still am that and I'm trying to recover.

Do you enjoy being around people or do you enjoy being with you, yourself and you? Or do you like both? Are you highly expressive around loved ones and not strangers? Experiment and decide for yourself!
