Top 10 blogging tips from not-super-experienced bloggers

Hey Dreamers! How's it goin' in Dreamland? Hope y'all are doin' good! Today we're here with a post exclusively for bloggers! We'll be giving y'all our top 10 tips for blogging! OMG, and did you guys hear that Jesy left Little Mix?! It's just so devastating 😭! This year seriously can't get any worse. But we're glad and proud that Jesy put her mental health first. We'll always support her. Let's just hope that Little Mix doesn't go on hiatus, too... 

Anyway, without further ado, let's get in! 

1. Always preview a post before posting - This is VERY important! Trust us, we learnt it the hard way. We're not just saying that for the sake. We really did. Also make sure to proofread your post VERY CAREFULLY to avoid mistakes. 

2. You can't just use pictures from the internet on your blog - Well, you can...iF yOU wAnT tO gET cOpYRiGhTeD. You don't want that, now, do you? Ya don't! So better listen to us. You cannot just copy and paste someone's pic on your blog. It can be copyrighted. So what do you do? You can always embed pictures (or even videos and and stuff) on your blog post from any website (Examples: Pinterest, Getty images, Google images, etc.). If you don't know what embedding is, it's the integration of links, images, videos, gifs and other content into websites or other web media. We did that in some of our posts like in the Confetti album review (the picture of Little Mix was embedded from Getty images and the album cover was embedded from Wikipedia)  and the Wonder album review (the picture of Shawn was embedded from Getty images, the album cover was embedded from Wikipedia and the Spotify album widget was embedded from Spotify). Or you can get pictures from stock sites like shutterstock, if you're willing to pay for it.

3. Prep the post the day before you post - That's what we do and if you wish you can also plan and outline the upcoming posts! And make sure to set the 'Published on' thingy to 'Automatic' (if you use blogger), so that the day and time you post on will be shown and not the day you created the draft will be shown. 

4. Don't be perfect - Don't portray yourself being perfect on your blog. No one likes the 'Look at me, I'm so perfect!' blogger. Instead be honest and let all your flaws shine through! 

5. Customize your blog - A basic layout? BOOOORING! Personalizing your blog is also very important! If you have a few minutes to spare, take that time to customize your blog!  

6. Have a schedule - Have a schedule of when you'll post. It could be once a week, twice a week, thrice a week or even once a month or year. Consider your daily schedule and set a posting schedule. And also make sure to post on your posting days! If you're unable or you fail to post for a particular span of time, that's totally okay.

7. Do it with a passion - We know, it's cliché, but it's very vital and ya can't deny it! If you're doing it because you think you HAVE to, just don't. 

8. Be aware of the things you can and cannot reveal on the internet - This one's petty self explanatory. Just be careful of what you're revealing on the internet.  

9. Don't consider what others will think while writing - Wait! It's not what it sounds like. We mean like if you think someone you know will read your post, and while writing you go 'OMG, what if (insert reader name here) reads this? What will she/he think? Will she/he like it? What if she/he does not?' and so on. This is your blog. You can post anything you want and not care about what others think.

10. PROMOTEEE!! - Create posters and post it on Pinterest/Instagram/Facebook or even your (or your parent's) WhatsApp status! We post our posters on Pinterest (@chaotic_dreamers) and in our mom's WhatsApp status. And if you want to get pictures for your posters, you can check out Unsplash (https://unsplash.com/). It's a website where you can use the images there for free on the internet without getting sued! ItAgai's what we use for our poster pictures. n, what we said in tip #2 applies here too. You can't use pictures from the internet. Most of it are copyrighted. And also make sure to ask for your parent's consent before you post anything on any social media platform or anywhere on the internet.
